Katie & Sam, Huntington Beach Wedding

 

A stunning couple, gorgeous day to get married and the most charming, rustic venue.  All part of the beautiful wedding day of Katie & Sam on October 23, 2010.

Katie loved the feel of the Red Horse Barn and opted for a hand-made, comfy, and crafty design for the reception.  Found provided awesome vintage furniture pieces around the dance floor, the dessert & gift tables, and made SUCH a difference in the space.  Floral pieces  were mason jars collected by the bride, and her family and filled with wildflowers and tied with colored ribbon.

For dinner, guests were first treated to hot, fresh-made quesadillas and cocktails, then Taco Man served up the most delicious tacos along with yummy sides.

Dessert was fabulous – homemade cookies by Katie’s mom, and donuts served with cold milk.  The guests were truly enjoying this end of the night treat.

It’s Rustic and it’s vintage and it’s lovely

I’m working with one of my fabulous 2010 brides on her detail-infused, rustic yet elegant and vintage wedding.  We have had so much fun going over ideas and more ideas.  Browsing some blogs, I found these great photos that really capture a similar feel.

Our details actually have more lace, more birch wood and lots of jewels.  Oh I can’t wait to share!

A Fabulous First Birthday Fiesta

That’s it!  The theme of  my baby boy’s first birthday party.  I saw all of these vibrant and beautiful colors surrounding me and I thought – PERFECT – let’s use that and implement a Mexican-inspired celebration.

Not to mention the fun and yummy parties I went to while in our many trips to Mexico to visit family.  Those gave me the most reason to throw this type of soiree for my little one.

Stat of the Week: Bride’s shoes! Looks like the budget for this wedding necessity is quickly dropping.  Would you agree with this drop in price or do you see bride’s actually spending more on their beloved shoes?

Some whispy, light inspiration from the Bride’s Guide blog.  I love the look of ivory, blush and pale pink combined with white.  So angelic and romantic and add some crystals or pearls and the most beautiful look is achieved.

Sweet Sesame Street

Here at Charming Events, we primarily help plan and design weddings, however once in a while we do get the most wonderful opportunities to help with the planning of other celebrations.  So, this fabulous sweets table is definitely something I could see at one of our fun parties.

I’m also a mom of two, so of course, this Sesame Street inspired candy buffet is something I have got to share!  The inspiration is overwhelming.   Thanks to the Hostess With The Mostess blog for these yummy pics!
